ghost reminder

Hello,

I am using Outlook 2007 (part of Office 2007 SP2). I keep getting a
reminder for an appointment that I have deleted. When I click on the <open>
button on the reminder window nothing happens, and when I search for the
appointment in my calendar it is not there. How do I get rid of this
reminder permanently?

Try running the Inbox Repair Tool:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\SCANPST.EXE"
on your Outlook Data file:
"C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.PST"

In addition to Jon's remark;
Start Outlook with the /cleanreminders switch;
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /cleanreminders

I tried that suggestion but it did not work. I will try the next in the
thread, maybe.

Thank you! I believe that did the trick. Any idea why that would have
happened (that the ghost reminder was there)?

You're welcome! :)

This could have happened by a write failure, a corrupt meeting request
(possibly via a sync with a mobile device) or a previous crash of Outlook.
There are some other scenarios in which you might encounter this too.
Usually this is a one-off though and not a persistent issue.
