How do a "global" search for a word?

G

George

I'm using Outlook2003BCM. Would like to search all my business contacts
that have any reference to a certain word... let's say the word "green".
Need it to bring back every instance, in any field, anywhere...whether in a
name, a business history note, a city, whatever. Is this doable?

For instance, it would bring back...

-Bill Green, Jr.

-Joe Smith...business history... "we discussed painting the trim green..."

-Mary Jones... her city is Greenville

-Bob Doe... stree address is 123 Greenlee Road...

-etc.

Thanks,
George

George,

To my knowledge this type of search for a key word within all fields and text
is doable using the built-in, Advanced Find tool that comes with Outlook and
BCM however, you can only do this within 1 item type folder at a time. For
example, finding all instances of "green" within the Business History folder
or the Tasks folder or Accounts, etc. I believe there is a 3rd party
developed utility that exists that can search globally among all folder items
at once but I don't recall the name of it or where to purchase it.

Yes, "Lookout" is indeed the name of this global (multi-folders at once)
search app that I have read some good things about though I have no direct
experience with using myself.

The native Advance Find tool works very well but only 1 folder at a time.

The MSN Search Toolbar also searches Outlook. From my simple use of it
it seems equivalent to Lookout, plus it also searches the desktop and
the web, so you only need to install a single add-in to search all
three.
