Hi.

I have WinXP Pro SP2. I use the search function quite a bit, and I would
like to place a shortcut in my 'Quick Launch' section on the taskbar. I
looked for the shortcut in XP, and tried to manually create on in the
'Start' menu, but no luck.

Anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks

hi,
To create shortcut
Start >> Right click and hold Search >> Drag it to Quick Launch >> Release
the right click >> Select Create Shortcut Here option

All the best

Interesting. I tried that and it wouldn't work. Mind you, I'm on XP Home and
no SP2.

Hi Robin,

It works for me.

I'm using XP Home and while I do have SP2 installed, I don't think it's a
new feature of SP2.

The only thing I'm curious about is why someone would ever want to use XP's
native Search feature. The few times I did try using it, the search took
forever and didn't find any/all the files.

I've been using Agent Ransack ever since I got XP, and it looks as if I'll
continue to use it with SP2.
