How can you tell if/where updates, fixes are loaded?

I am having an issue and in reading the various articles from the KB, it says
install this or that fix, patch, update etc. In some cases it says wait for
next cummulative update. Since the date on which these articles were written
is often a year or more old, I am presuming I have all the cummulative
updates since I have been updating my machine. (W2K SP4, IE6.0 SP1) I have
found Hot Fixes listed in Add/Remove Programmes and clicking on support
information tells me what that particular hot fix is about but how can I tell
if all the various updates are installed beyond MS update site not giving me
something in a list to install?

I'm not an advanced user so please go easy on any jargon! :-)

Thanks,

Hello:

Thank you very much for the information. In spite of MS Updater telling me
that I was up to date, the MBSA programme found two that were not installed.
I don't know how or why but these two installations corrected my problem.
Which was, btw, the fact that suddenly my cipher strength went from 128 bit
to 0 bit and I could not access secure pages. I ran ad-aware, mcafee,
spybot, repaired IE6.0 SP1, installed encpack_windows2000_en all to no avail.
The updates "cured" the problem....for now. With MS you just never know
what will go wrong next.

Anyway, thanks again.
