I am trying to prepare a Powerpoint for use across a number of users. I am
designing a bespoke Template/Master. The intention is to ensure that users do
not change colours fonts, positions etc when they create a presentation. Is
it possible to lock the slide master in order to do this???

John,

using VBA programming, there are possibilities to lock certain features or
to change objects back to standard. But AFAIK there is no ready-made Add-In
for this, you'd have to pay a programmer to do the job - and it's not a
simple one.

But whatever you do to ensure standards, users will find a way around it. In
my opinion, the only way to ensure people stick to a template, is to EDUCATE
them. Tell them, WHY they should use this color, font, and whatsoever. If
it's not possible to educate them in live lessons, make a sample file and
add explanations and distribute this with the template.

Kind regards,
Ute

Ute Thankyou very much. You have confirmed my fears. But the points you make
about education are the one thing I bang on to all my Powerpoint clients.
Thanks for your advice.

Regards

John
