how can one change the programfiles fodler

Normally the programfiles is set to c:\Program files. since I restored
windows form a asr backup from D: partition, I got programfiles=d:\Program
files.
however system variables seems OK:
SystemDrive=C:
SystemRoot=C:\WINDOWS

How do I change globally programfiles=c:\Program files.?

changing the environment in the system advanced did not help

it might be better to do your restore again, except it might help to move the
backup file from the d drive to the c drive before beginning the process.
Didn't the backup/restore program provide you with an option as to where you
wanted the restore, ie, original location?

I think 2nd restore would not help as the asr was made of an xp install in
D: I told the restore process to restore to C: instead of original location.
which it did. but somehow it did not set the global environment variable to
c:...

so any install , change, update would go to d:\program files instead of
DF:\p...

my plan was to get rid of d:\program files
