How can I uninstall WGA Notifications v1.5.526?

This was installed on my MCE2005 computer through Windows Updates on
May 5th. This article:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=921914

gives instructions for uninstalling the "pilot version", but it
doesn't appear to apply to me because the applicable version range
doesn't include 526. (versions 1.5.0527.0 to 1.5.0532.2)

WGA Notifications does not appear on the Add/Remove list at all.

1. Are there instructions provided by MS to remove 526 that I
haven't found? Or, will the pilot version instructions work on 526?

2. If I allow the latest 6/27 version to be installed, will I then
be able to uninstall that one?

3. Will the program RemoveWGA remove v526?

Basically, how can I get Notifications off my system?

By reformatting and a clean install. The new WGAs cannot be uninstalled.

Have you resolved this ... before I spend time describing what to do ... I
would like to know?

First off, make sure that Show Updates is checked in Add/Remove Programs
and then look down the list for Windows Genuine Advantage.

This link might help..

Can't say if it works because I don't use auto update..... and neve
had any problems since ditching Exploder and Outlook

Why are MS so busy with software thats full of flaws.... shouldn'
they be concentrating on Vista ~ or will that be the same..

Should give Xp away in packets o
Cornflakes for the flaws it has on
approach would be to get a spare hard drive and install anything bu
MS..... then you'll really see the difference. XP become so bloate
with patches that has to be loaded in RAM........ it's almost becom
'bloatware'

No, I haven't done anything yet, and it's not resolved.

Ok, yes, both Validation and Notification are there. But of
course they both say "this update cannot be removed".

What do I do next?

Thanks for your help, Larry.
