How can I turn off the confirm delete feature in Word?

Several of us must confirm every deletion we wish to make. For others, it
happens automatically when they press the delete key. We have been unable to
find any different settings between the two groups. I am a member of the
frustrated group and we are all using Word2002.

In Tools > Options > General, uncheck both options that mention WordPerfect.
