Greetings,

I've got a hard-disk basically just used for video-editing. It's not
necessary to keep it running all the time, so I would like to turn it off.
How can I turn off a selected hard-disk? WinAPI calls will be fine.

Thanks!

Boot into your BIOS and select that drive as Not Installed.
You can Re-Install it any time.

If you are good at customising then splice into the red power lead going
into the back of the drive and place a toggle switch in the back of the
case.

If you just disable it in the bios the power is still going to the drive so
it will still spin.

With the switch it will totally turn the drive off.
