how can I take a number and convert to a mm/yyyy in Access

I have a 4 digit number that needs convert to a mm/yyyy. I know the formula
in Excel that would convert the number to mm/yyyy. I would of put in Excel
but the file is over a 170,000 in records. So I need to know how to 1237 and
make it 01/2003.
 
Well then - what is the formula that you'd use in Excel? What is 1237 and how
does it relate to 01/2003? What would 02/2003 be?
