Hi Neil

In the saved letter amend the date manually to the date of the leter.

The insert date field in word always updates letters to today's date, so the
best option is to inert the date by typing it in rather than through the menu
options.

Hope this helps, please let me know.

Alternatively, you can replace the automatically updating DATE or TIME
field with a CREATEDATE field, which displays the creation date
(and/or time) of the file: Press ALT+F9 to display field codes. You'll
see something like: { DATE \@ "MM/dd/yy" }. Change the uppercase part
to CREATEDATE, press F9 to update field display, and then press ALT+F9
again to hide field codes. Save the file.

Note that this modification must be done for each existing document.
For the purpose of future documents, however, you can place the
CREATEDATE field in a template, and you'll get the correct creation
date in documents created from that template.
