How can I stay online in Outlook?

My system was set up to work offline and when I go to Outlook, I need to
enter my password to get to my email. After I send or receive my email, the
system automatically takes me offline.

I want to stay online after I type in my password.

Help will be apprreciated.
 
There's a setting in Tools>Options>Mail Setup: "Hang up when finished with a
manual send/receive" Try unchecking that.
