I am not able to login to windows xp, everytime that I tried it goes to
loggin in to the loging screen again. I tried the the safe mode with network
support but it dowsn't work either. I tried safe mode only and it let me
login, I delete the network adapter entry using device manager, but this
didn't work.

Are you using a network account(profile) or are you working with local
accounts? Is the machine a member of a domain? I would try to create another
local account (in safe mode)provide sufficient privliges and try to log in
with that account..

It sounds like you have user profile issues not hardware problems.

I'm using a local account, since is just a stand alone pc used at home. I
already created a new user with admin rights but I got the same results as
before.

Hmmm.... 1 last question - new build? or was this machine working at one point?

in safe mode run msconfig and uncheck all services and startup processes
from starting. Then try to login - if you do get in - you can then gradually
turn each service back on and reboot each time until you find the culprit.

It was working before. I ran msconfig as you suggested and I only ran the
vital processes but it didn't work. Any more ideas?
