Safe mode - cannot login

I tried to login to the safe mode with the password that I used in normal
mode but failed.
Is there any special password to login safe mode?

Should be the same password. Unless you are trying to login as
Administrator (though this password is blank by default - unles you've
changed it).

Your regular user account or the Built-in Administrator account? By
default - the account "Administrator" has no password unless you set up one
for it.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321305 discusses how to log on to Windows
XP if you forget your password, or your password expires.

I tried both:
1) User name = Administrator
Passwore = blank

2) User name = Alan
Password = the one that I used normally

Any more hints?

Not really.

Is 'Alan' an Administrator account, because only administrators can log in
in safe mode? Are you sure that 'Administrator' has no password?

It might help if you post exactly what message you get when you try to log
in.

If you can't log in from the Welcome Screen in safe mode... press ctrl -
alt - del twice -- see if you can log on in safe mode typing in the username
and password manually.

I recall the account 'Alan' is the account created by XP asked myself when I
installed XP. Not sure if 'Alan' is the administrator account.

Usually I login as 'Alan' in normal mode. I tried both 'Alan' and
'Administrator' accounts with all possible passwords (include blank)
yesterday, the strange things the pop up box just shows a couple of seconds
showing something '...Diagnostic mode....', I cannot even read that in time.

Now things worse, I tried to login normal mode, it hangs many times once
went into the main screen (it shows up the desktop, icons, task bar).

I got dual boot with Win2K, tried into that, even inside Win2K sometimes it
hung.
Make it worse, there was one time it boot into Vista. I got Vista installed
in my second SATA HD, it seems the first HD did not get booted. May be the
boot sector is corrupted.

I tried several times now can get into XP but sometimes it hung.

I checked the fragmentation, it is quite need defragmentation. Are they
related?

I will try the
XoftSpySE and SpyHunter's Free WinAntiVirus Pro 2007 Scanner to see if they
can elimiate the "ErrorSafe" and "WinAntivirus Pro 2007".

I think these 2 caused my computer crashes.
