I would like to know if I can set the 'Reading Panel'
to 'Off' by default, as it is both a security risk to me
that an unknown message body gets loaded whenever I select
a folder (eg to purge my junk folder), as well as a hassle
to have to manually set it on the many folders I know have
(over 10 years worth of email).

Thanks in advance for saving much mousing around,

Alex

It is not a security risk as the Reading Pane doesn't allow code execution.
If this is your only reason you might as well leave it on and enjoy that
feaure.

Tips of the month:
-Save Embedded Pictures in Their Original Format
-Create an Office XP CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 3

1) when purging junk or deleted, right click on the folder and choose
empty - the contents aren't visible.

2) you need to disable it on the view - View, Arrange By.. find Define views
and edit the Messages view.

3) As Roady mentioned, it's not a security risk... reading in preview is
safer than opening messages.
