How can I open two files for side-by-side comparison?

In Office 95 I could open two or more files in PowerPoint and view them
side-by-side. And I could drag text and objects, even slides, from one to
the other. This was VERY useful.

How can I do this in PowerPoint 2003?
(I am aware of the "Insert" feature, but that doesn't allow side-by-side
comparison.)
