How can I open Office from the icons at startup?

I cannot open Office through the icons on the startup menu. I can get to
Powerpoint, etc, but Word just won't open. I can get to documents saved, but
I can't open it otherwise. What can I do?
 
Go to Add/Remove software in the control panel. Click on Office (what
ever version) click change, then select Repair
