Columns are neither designed nor intended for you to navigate from left to
right or vice-versa. Columnar layout provides newspaper-type columns that
both run and read from top to bottom, left to right.
It sounds like what you really want to use is a table, which consists of
columns & rows, in order to have related content in adjacent columns but on
the same row.
