hi all
I hope you can help with a word-problem.
When i open word and change some settings in word, word doesn't save the
changes to the normal.dot file.
When i restart my pc and then open word, the settings in word are set back
to default. so word doens't save the normal.dot file.
I'm using word2002.
Can somebody help me?

Regards kevin

What settings? Are you changing styles, autotext, autocorrect,
toolbars, menus, macros, dictionary, user options...

thanks for the reply garfield-n-odie.
I'm changing autocorrect settings.
And in the file menu, i don't see my documents that i currently used.
I hope someone can help me with the problem.

Most autocorrect entries are not saved in normal.dot, they are saved in
mso1033.acl (assuming you have a U.S.-English version of Word 2002 or 2003;
the "1033" part of the filename will change to a different number if you have
a different localized language version). Only formatted-text autocorrect
entries are saved in normal.dot. Make sure you have enabled AutoCorrect by
clicking on Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoCorrect | check the "Replace
text as you type" box | OK.

To enable the list of recently used files, click on Tools | Options |
General | check the "Recently used file list" box | OK. If you installed the
TweakUI add-in for Windows, make sure you have not disabled the history
feature using TweakUI, because that setting overrides the Word setting.
