How can I make my printer work from my laptop

I have a desktop being fed by a wireless router thru a cable modem. My
printer is connected to my desktop via USB. I also have a laptop on that
wireless network that works fine with one exception. I want to print on the
printer connected to my desktop from my laptop. I have 'shared' the printer
but am not able to see that printer. Both machines are Dell Xp with Dell
router. Printer works on desktop, Do I need to install drivers on laptop to
print over the network? Tx Mike

On your laptop you need to do a printer install and pick network as the
attachment. You should be prompted to install the drivers.
