How can I make "insert page numbers" the default condition?

I want all new documents that I open have page numbers in them, as the
default condition, since I forget to hit the page number button.

I'd say you need to alter your default template relating to the new
documents that you create. However, I'm not sure, since this is a Microsoft
Access newsgroup, not a Microsoft Word one - try over in the Word forums
and you'll get more joy.
