How can i link a word document to outlook

I am trying to link word documents to outlook so I can send myself an alert
if the document is time sensitive and has not been responded to by the
recipient. Is it possible to have a drop down box or tool bar created in Word
when the letter is written?
 
This newsgroup is for questions about forms in Access, the database product
that's part of Office Professional.
