To change the header you'll need to insert a section break, and then unlink
the header from that of the previous section. You can then edit the two
headers separately. Footers will still be linked (unless you explicitly
unlink them too). For more on headers and footers, see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/HeaderFooter.htm.
You can change the header footer at a section break and vary this with the
settings available in page setup. If you want to retain the footer after a
section break where the header changes, copy and paste the footer from the
previous section.

If the difference is due to different Headings, try StyleRef field. With this
field there is no need for Section Breaks and the changes are updated
automatically. If more of a change is required, then Section Breaks as Stefan
and Graham have indicated will be required.
