How can I install updates w/o a internet connection?

I have two dentist clients that are getting HIPAA compliant so I am putting
a server in for password/file control but I also need to be able to install
MS updates on 7 machines and 1 server. The problem is that neither office
has a broadband connection right now. They are checking into availability
but I need to install all updates now and all they have is two modem lines.

The server is Win2000 and the desktops are mostly Win2000 with a couple XP
Pro's.

What would be my best alternative? I do have a external drive and a laptop
with XP Pro on it.

Go to another computer that is online and go to MS and review all the
updates available for the particular operating systems and download them and
burn to disk, then install on each computer.

Make a mobile "wsus server"!

Install WSUS on you laptop for exemple, sync with msft. You will have
all fixes available for all of your clients...

Configure a GPO at your dentists on the W2K server that point to an
alias such as mobile-wuw.dentists.foo and updates all of the clients
with automatic updates

There used to be a way that you could 'trick' XP into installing SUS, but
this isn't the case (as of yet) that I've seen for WSUS.

Perhaps you could take that server somewhere where there IS an Internet
connection, install WSUS, synchronize the content, etc., then bring the
server back to the office to distribute the updates.

If you do have a copy of Server, then I would install it on the laptop
(maybe you have a spare hard drive around for this?) and do as nmazurier
stated. Heck - if you have been to a MS training session where you received
180 day version of server, you could probably use that...
