How can I get the mic to temporarily turn off and then back on?

I would like to be able to turn the mic off and then on by voice commands
when I do not want the mic off for a long period. Just temporarily turn it
off and then back on again

If the mike is turned off, how would you expect it to react to a voice
command to turn it back on?
