How can I get a mixer to show up on sound devices

I plugged an Alesis 16-channel mixer by firewire into Windows XP Pro. After
downloading the software and drivers, the device shows that it is working
properly, howeverI can't get it to show up on Sound, Speech, and Audio
devices. When I checked properties for this device, there was no property
tab on the device window. Any ideas on how I can get this mixer to show up
on the Sound, Speech, and Audio device listing? Thanks
