How can I get a different last page footer in Word 2000 & Word 200

I have clients using both versions so I need something that'll work across
the board. I've tried the IF {page} < {numpages} method, and also bookmarked
text appearing on the last page and tried IF {page} < {PAGEREF xxx} method
and can't get either of them to work in Word 2003. It's like the {PAGE} field
inside the IF is being determined by what page my cursor's on. So if I click
on p1 and print, all pages have the main footer, but if I click on the last
page and print, all pages have the last page footer. This is driving me mad
and any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Marion.

This should work in all versions. Make sure you have "Update fields" checked
on the Print tab of Tools | Options.
