How can I export a custom toolbar from outlook?

Hi,

I work in a helpdesk, and for some of the users I have created a small
custom toolbar with a button on it which contains a hyperlink to our spam
filter page.

I would like to export this toolbar/button combination and import it into
other users outlook if possible. Can this be done?

we are running winxp with office xp.

Thanks,

Are you using Word or Outlook as your e-mail editor? It would be easier to
do if you're using Word...you can attach the toolbar to a template and send
out the template, then the users can use the Organizer in Word to copy the
toolbar from that template to their Normal.dot template.

It's harder when using Outlook as the e-mail editor because the only way to
distribute your custom toolbar (that I know of) is to give everyone a copy of
your outcmd.dat file and have them replace theirs with yours, but that would
remove any toolbar customizations they may have made.

I hope that someone else will jump in here if they have any other
suggestions for you.

Hi Jocelyn,

We by default have set to use txt only for email editing. Some people have
turned the 'use word as email-editor' on, but most have not. We also are not
using an exchange server (yet).

re: outcmd.dat, is it possible to "extract" the bits that make up the custom
toolbar and have them merged into other files?

(I realise this sounds a tat daft, but i'm trying to stop a lot of
phonecalls coming in re: spamfiltering and just to give them a button seems
easy. clicking a link on the intranet isnt doing it)

Thanks heaps,
Agnes

There is no way I know of to break down the outcmd.dat file or extract
specific data from it.
