How can I delete Outlook from Office 2007 beta download?

I downloaded and installed beta version of Office 2007. Want to return to
using Outlook 2003, but can't uninstall Outlook 2007 without uninstalling the
entire 2007 suite. I'd really like to keep the rest of it Office 2007 to
work with and begin to learn.

Sorry, but Outlook is by default, unable to be Uninstalled from Office. It's
part of the package, as with all versions of Office. I'm not a big Outlook
fan myself, but find this new Outlook beta, once I read-up on how some of the
confusing parts of it work, I find I like it better than any other e-mail
client I've ever used. WITH the exception of Calendar. IT seems to crash
Outlook everytime I open it, and even the "Fix Office" feature didn't help
it. Hmmm....
Anyway, questions about my post, just reply here....
=)

Certainly it can. When you run Office setup after installation, you have a choice of adding and removing components. If you choose the option to customize the selecton, that can include removing all or part of Outlook.

The better option for Bob, though, might be to remove all of Office 2007, then installl Outlook 2003, then install Office 2007, customizing the installation not to include Outlook 2007.

Thanks, Sue, I'll give it a shot.

Could you please indicate precisely how one tells the installation program
NOT to install Office 2007 Outlook, but to install the rest of the suite.
(Unfortunately the mail server I need to use is not supported by Outlook 2007
-- it's a sad story for another day).

Thank you.

After youi enter the product key and accept the EULA, you'll see a screen with two choices -- Install Now and Customize. Choose the latter, then click the down arrow on Outlook and set it to Not Installed. Click Install Now to complete the installation.

Perhaps this should be a new thread but it does follow the veign of this
discussion.

I also installed the full Office 2007 Beta and while I like the improvements
to Outlook, I also wanted to roll back to 2003 because the beta will not sync
with my Palm Pilot.

My concern is that if I uninstall the suite and reinstall 2003, will I lose
my Outlook address book, configurations etc. My Outlook is used with
Microsoft Exchange for corporate e-mail and while I'm competant to manually
reinstall my personal POP e-mail stuff, I don't know that I can do the same
with an Exchange setup.

Any advice?

Removing the application doesn't do anything to your existing data or mail profiles.
