How can I ByPass Login screens

As an individual user of Windows XP Prof when I start my system I get a login
screen with the message "the system could not log you in. Make sure your user
name and password are correct. Then type your password again."
I then click O.K. and get a logon window asking for my password. I click
O.K. again, without entering a password, and the system comes up. How can I
bypass all this and just have the system come up on startup?
