how can i add a pecentage on to a total

I NEED TO ADD A PERCENTAGE TO A TOTAL COST TO TAKE THE FINAL FIGURE FROM COST
PRICE TO RETAIL PRICE

in anohter cell= the above cell*15%
will give you 675/=
is this what you want ??

I WAS HOPING TO BE ABLE TO CONTAIN THE TOTAL OF THE FIRST CELL AND THE ADDED
PERCENTAGE OF IT IN THE NEXT CELL

If the original price is in A1 and the percentage to be added is 17.
then in A2

=A1*1.175

Alternatively if you only want to do this once and just keep the ne
value:
Type 1.175 into any blank cell and copy it. Then highlight the price
to be increased. Use Edit, Past Special, and select Multiply then OK
This will multiply all the highlighted cells by the amount copied
