How are you notified an email has been successfully recalled?

The only message I have received regarding my message recall is a note that
says: "You are now viewing this message in the Internet zone. You attempted
to recall this message on..." I clicked delete in the message toolbar and
the message disappeared from my Sent Items folder. It wasn't in my deleted
items folder either. Does that mean the message was successfully recalled?

In an Exchange environment, you get either a Recall Succeeded or Recall
Failed notification.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, Janelle Lister asked:
