How about Thunderbird ? Seems so "beta"...

I use Thunderbird as email client from Jan, but everytime I try to
create email with simple formatting (colors, some images) come out many
little problems: cut & paste of text and/or images with strange results
(correct paste or little mark or big mark or error "Unable to save as
draft. There was an error attaching - Please check if you access to the
file" ?), losing of ALL formatting while typing, strange behaviour on
save in draft...it feels so "beta" to me.

Is there any other email client stronger with html & images formatting,
so I can keep Thunderbird only for ordinary emails ?

you're using hte standard (not beta alpha whatever) thunderbird, yes?

could try mozilla suite or seamonkey (suite)

i think you can choose to install only parts, either from full download or from 'stub' installer.

if you have to install all, you still can create mail shortcuts
they are something like the regular shortcut, but append -mail

Interesting points.
I use Thunderbird 1.0.2, and compared with Outlook Express, I find it
nice and friendly, but also maddeningly crude (for instance, when I can
search on "sender" in my inbox, but I can't search on "recipient" in my
sent mail box -- it'll only give me a search on myself). And I'm locked
out from searching messages within context -- having to go back and
forth between modes, losing my place each time.

But Thunderbird is amazingly well-wrought when I consider that
Microsoft's billions aren't behind it. It's a pretty good beta, and I
want to keep using it as it gets slicker.

Formatted email Is Not Universal!

Begin Rant:

As far as HTML goes, let me just say here that you don't know how much I
hate receiving emails that contain any form of coding. Embedded code
into emails was, in my opinion, a clever scam by Microsoft to block out
any competition to their integrated office systems. Wallpaper, fonts,
fancy layout -- these betray the intent of email to be a _universal_
exchange format. That is, you can send a simple ASCII email to a
handicapped person who only has a $25 used DOS computer with no graphics
whatsoerver, and the two of you can exchange your communications. Let's
assume here that your recipient is a blind person with a very primitive,
old, inexpensive text-to-sound program. If you send that same person
your email with nice cute font changes, text sizes, pretty patterns,
etc., that recipient is going to receive an inintellible mush from you.
And it'll be nice and mushy, too, as rendered on the screen.

I encourage everyone to send their email in plain text -- leave fancy
formatting to the web, word processing, and electronic publishing.
