I noted birthdays and anniversaries in my contacts folder. Now how do I get
them to appear in my calendar?

If you open a Contact record in your default Contacts folder and add a
birthday or anniversary, then save and close the contact record, Outlook
will add the event to the default Calendar automatically.

Outlook uses the default contacts folder to create connections between contacts and activities, including birthdays. Is there some reason you felt the need to create a second contacts folder rather than use categories to separate your contacts?
