Hello all......

Using a hover button, how do you get the link to show up in the status bar
and stay when the cursor is on the button?

I am noticing that the link info flashes for a moment and then says
Done.(before any selection is made)

Thanks....

Look for many previous posts about hover buttons.... After reading them you
wont want to use them any more.

It is a Java Applet, you can't control how is works.

LOL!!!

Well I really DID go through a lot of the back posts :)
This was a "client wanted it" thing.... and of course is now complaining
about the issue I asked about. Oh well... thanks anyway!

So if one really does not care for the FP navigation system but wants
something more than a text link.... what is being used???? (that does not
cost.... or does not cost a fortune!) < g >

Thanks
Tom G.

What makes you think that the only FP navigation system uses Hover buttons?
Most FrontPage navigation does NOT use Hover buttons.

Yes Kevin I understand that.... < s >

My comment was that for those that are not fond of the navigation system
(NOT HOVER BARS!!!!!) that fp does utilize.... ie the navigation menu
bar....Navigation views, etc

I DO NOT think that hover bars are a part of the navigation system nor do I
believe as such. I also do not believe in the tooth fairy! < vbg >

From my perspective... the navigation system is awkward.... of course, I am
new to fp and still getting used to it, so give me some time. :)

So then, again..... for those that do not like the navigation system in fp
and if hover bars are not that great... what is the general
recommendation..... or is it when in Rome.....? :)

Thanks.......

Tom -

You can always hand-craft your own navigation system with simple hyperlinks and
whatever buttons you'd like. You can even incorporate effects using DHTML. The
downside, of course, is that if you change the hierarchy of your website pages,
the navigation links won't automatically follow your changes.

Craig

I prefer to you plain text links with CSS mouseover color changes, since
search engine prefer text links over all others types.

Thanks Craig and Thomas......for the direction.

I'm really just looking for what is the "common" (if there is such a thing <
s >) approach among the FP crowd that perhaps does not use the FP navigation
system. Trying to "fit in" and all..... LOL!!!!

The menu on your site... Thomas... is nice.... I'll have to give your
approach some work. I;'ve done it prior in Dreamweaver.... got to be the
same anyway I would think.

Thanks again.....

I am using the FP Include Page component on my site below.
