I am using XP Pro and Hotmail as my e-mail program. When either sending a
new message, forwarding or replying there is quite a delay before another
horizontal line near the top of the text area appears. If I forget to wait
for it to appear and try sending an Error message appears and will not Send
making it necessary to do everything all over again.. This is something
fairly new and was not like that before. The extra horizontal line at the
top of the Text Area always appeared right away along with the rest of the
message and did require me to wait for it to decide to appear.

Thanks for any help to hopefully correct this.

nothing new that i know about

When you talk about hotmail as your email program you mean IE6 (internet
explorer 6) i presume... Have you tried accessing it from another computer?
If not and it works on theirs then i suggest reinstalling IE6 from your
windows XP install disk. If you do not want to maybe use another browser like
Firefox to access it.

As for losing your message. I always copy my email message to the clipboard
before i send it, because if it fails i can just paste the message back in
again

I hope that helps

Cheers
