hotmail password

I just bought a new computer and installed outlook on it and was trying to
check with it my hotmail account. It then kept on asking me for my hotmail
password even though I knew it was correct. in the end I couldn't connect to
the hotmail server. this also happened to me on outlook express. this
problem is only happening to me on the new computer.

Have you paid the extra charge to allow POP access to hotmail ?

Even paid accounts do not use POP access.

If you have a free Hotmail account, you will not be able to access it from
Outlook or Outlook Express.
