Hotmail-browser limitations.

when I try to go to hotmail I get a message telling me
my current browser has limitations that limit my use of
hotmail services and would I like to download the latest
version of internet explorer.So I click on yes and it
sends me to windows update where I download all
recomended updates.When I try hotmail I get same
message.I am running windows xp.
