You cannot configure Windows Mail to use a Web-based
e-mail account in Windows Vista

Yep just do like I did.. I sent a nasty email to Hotmail as a subscriber and
told them I am not USING hotmail anymore! No damn POP suppport and the
dropped support for it in Windows Mail.. I am currently moving all my forum
registratiosn and email subscriptions to the GMail.. no more damn issues
with email.. and besides even with Outlook Express everytime I did a mail
synch it would fail.. I would than have to do another send/receive to get my
email from hotmail. Hotmail has become total crap.

Guys,
How about if I just want to send en email to either my or any hotmail
account? Is it that much different than gmail? Isn't gmail a "web-based"
email system? Is there setting or account setting that I can do to be able
to send to my own hotmail? Maybe I can't reach other hotmail
accounts.....???? that would be scary b/c I conduct business out of my
computer/Vista/office account. Please advise. I think that if I set up a
dummy account under Windows Mail, Account settings, copy onto a new server
and designate hotmail as my server, it might work, but I'm afraid to try.
Let me know your thoughts when you get a chance.
Thanks!
Oscar.
PS. How do I turn off the mouse pad that's under my thumbs? I use an
external, wireless mouse. Any thoughts?

Like any other email client program, WinMail can send to, and
receive email from, any email address anywhere in the world.
The only thing it won't let you do is set up a web-based account
(like a Hotmail account). What you can do is set up an account
that has a Hotmail return address but sends through your own
ISP or Gmail.
