I will clarify the question. How do you forward emails from a windows mail
account to a hotmail account automatically. So if you not at the machine
which holds your windows mail acct and wanted the emails to go to a
hotmail
acct so you could check them from anywhere ?
Windows Mail accounts refer to an email account held somewhere else at an
email provider, for example to pick names, at Comcast or Rogers or Gmail, or
your company.
If you set your Windows Mail client to leave messages on the server, you
don't need to forward them. You simply go to the web interface for your
mail provider, and read it. They are on the server and in your Windows
Mail message store.
If you have downloaded the mail from the server to Windows Live Mail and
then forward it to Hotmail, it will all appear to come from - you. If you
reply, you will reply to yourself, not to the original sender.
Forwarding has to be done on the server so that the original sender
information is preserved.
If you are forwarding from Windows Mail, and I'm not sure it allows for a
rule to do this, your PC has to be always on and always connected. This is
a wholly unnecesary expense, as the same information can be left on the
server, which has 24x7 staff to look after it.
