Hot to move from disk-based to IIs on computer

M

Mike Jacoubowsky

I'm having difficulty figuring out how to change the version of my website
on my laptop from disk-based to IIs. Presently, I have to do all of my
editing on-line (my ISP has FP server extensions), but I'd like to do the
editing on my laptop (or other local) computer, and then just publish the
changes.

I've installed IIs, and tried to publish to a "Front Page or Sharepoint"
location, but can't seem to do that on the laptop. Obviously I don't quite
get it.

Thanks for any help-

Once I named my machine localhost...that wasn't a good idea.

| Glad to help.
| You can also use the computer "name" or logged on users name.
| For me it is http://steve/webfoldername
|
| To find out what the actual computer name or "username" is, click Start >
Run and enter:
| %userprofile%
| and click OK
|
| The name that shows for "namehere" after C:\Documents and
Settings\namehere is the one
| that will work.
