Hot Key for Font Size

Is there a way in Word to set up a hot key for font size? For example, I
start typing in 12 type font, and then I want to change to 16 font bold. Is
there a hot key that I can set-up that will allow me to go from 12 type
normal to 16 type bold? Or is there anything similar that will help?

I see a couple of options here.

1. If you have a specific new font style in mind, you could record a macro
and assign a key combination to it.

2. Using Ctrl + > will increment the size of your font, then add bolding
(Ctrl + B).

3. Format the font using Ctrl + D, which will bring up your font dialog box.

After you have typed in what you want in the desired new font, use Ctrl +
Shift + N to return to your Normal style.

Define a character style for the font format you want and assign a keyboard
shortcut to it. The shortcut will not be a toggle, but you can return to the
Default Paragraph Font using Ctrl+Spacebar.
