Hot Bar

I received an e-mail (seemed from Microsoft) saying
update to Microsoft on the form of Hot Bar. Greedily I
installed it, but I have now been informed it is Spy
Software and difficult to remove.

Anyone else with similar experience/knowledge about this?

First, Microsoft will never send updates or patches via e-mail. Just for
future refernce.
