HOSTS file & IP addresses

Please, if possible, post a method of determining the IP
address of a website in such a way that it can be added
to my HOSTS file to avoid DNS. By way of a concrete
example, how about http://www.refdesk.com.

Open a CMD window ( Start>run. Type CMD hit enter ) then type ping
www.refdesk.com. The ping command will display the IP number. Just
copy it and put it in your Hosts file
