As an example, let's say your Exchange server name is exchange.example.com, and
its ip address is 10.0.0.1. You make an entry in hosts:
10.0.0.1 exchange.example.com
Simple innt?

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
The file Hosts.sam gives examples, but is not the actual Hosts file (which
has no file extension and might need to be created). Make sure you enable
viewing of all filename extensions, so you are sure you are working with
"Hosts" and not "Hosts.txt" (filename capitalization is not inportant in
Windows).
You might also want to put your exchange server in Lmhosts.
