Host powered Firewire issues

I have a Lacie Pocket drive and Ipod both host powered and a digital
camcorder that my PC is failing to recognize under XP SP1 and 2. It’s ok with
firewire HD’s that’s are not host powered.

So far I have changed the firewire card, leads, and tested on 2 PC’s and no
joy in getting these to be recognized. All was fine and then each went dead
in turn although it seems to connect fine under USB…?

Any ideas would be great as I am going crazy tiring out ideas on this

The camcorder should be powered by AC and not by its internal battery when
connected by firewire.

What is the wattage of your PSU. If you're connecting all those devices at
once, you should be thinking about something in the region of a 500 watt PSU
or higher.
