How can you delete an item in the Host File ? TIA Gimpy

You're talking about the Hosts file in the windows folder, I presume.
It's a text file, isn't it? So open it up in notepad, and delete the
entry.

Explore to \Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc and Right Click Hosts,
Open With, Choose program - select Notepad and make changes
and save.
*Explorer by default doesn't show 100% of content, you have to
modify the View properties to include System, Hidden & Protected.

Remove the read only flag from the hosts file, and edit it in Notepad or
WordPad. Make sure that no (usually hidden) formatting codes are inserted
into it, i.e. make sure it is saved as a non word-processor formatted file !
.....in other words a plain text file !!!

doing it all yourself !
....oh, ... and write-protect it after you're finished.
Anti-malware programs that "lock" the hosts file can be a bit of a problem,
if you're not aware of what such programs, if you have any installed, are
doing ! ....such as Spybot Search & Destroy / Tea-timer.
