Hello,

I need some advice.

I was given a computer with windows XP Professional on it.

There are two ways to get it to work.

One being to log on as a NLC Youth, and two to log on as a NLC ADMIN.

The second one you need a password. Which I don't have.

I went back to the Bennett Center here, and asked for the password. The
person who would have has left the Center, and deleted all information.

I can not reinstall Windows XP as I don't have the CD for that.

I am wondering If someone could tell me how to locate the password on this
computer? Would it be somewhere in the registery ? Would there be a
freeware program that could do this for me? Is there somewhere on the
internet that I could find this info?

Thanks in advance for any help

I'm not certain that you have a license for XP then. Can you possibly
get it from the center? That is, make certain the machine came with a
license even though the install media was missing..

Password:

Tools to recreate an install CD (if you are sure that you have a
license!):

Good luck!

I think there are 2 ways to solve your problem,

NLC youth isn't a local administrator (i think) so you can't add a new
user (otherwise you can add a administrator and you're problem is
gone).

If you have a serialnumber of XP on the back of your machine, you can
call Microsoft and you will receive a new CD (i did, because i had the
same problem).

Otherwise you can download Windows XP pro , burn it on CD. Before you
install it again you must write down the serialnumber used on your
machine. Use ProduKey v1.02
(http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html). The program
is freeware.

I hope you solve your problem quickly,

Excuse me for asking but exactly which part of your purpose is not
theft? How does stealing something make if be "free?".

You wouldn't know how to figure out the admin password in Norton Security
would you? I know what the password was, I suspect my teenage son figured it
out and then logged in and changed it in the parental control panel.

The Pc was given away, how do you know the op system

hasn't been paid for at some stage.

Anyway ''Derald'' in this thread I would say your way off TOPIC.

I have to overlook you. This computer was given to me by the Christian
Ministries of The Bennett Center here of London, Kentucky. So How in the
world do you consider it to be theft on my part. I am not stealing one
thing. I do have the license, and as of now "Thanks to the Bennett Center"
I have the pass word. I should not have to explain nothing to you!!!
But may God bless you, and may your check to the undertaker bounce one
mimute befor you arrive in hell.

Thank you very much Sam. I did send a note to Derald explaining to them.
I did feel hurt about what they thought, but must say that I kind of know
where they came from as there are so many deceptions everywhere on the net.
One just doesn't know whom to trust. I just wish that he could have gave
me the benifit of the doubt. I now have the password thanks to Mary Lou
Woods of the Bennett Center here in London, and I do have a license for XP
Pro. .
