Go here http://hijackthis.de/en Download and run HijcakThis (a direct
download on that site) - copy and paste the results into the space
provided, see what it's got to report.

FWIW when I goto that site (Opera) I get this bogus alert:

Warning!

W32.Myzor.FK@yf is a virus that infects files with .exe extensions. It
attempts to steal passwords
and private information from the infected computer.

....

Click "OK" to download officially approved security software.
Always keep your patch levels up-to-date.

-If you clicked on OK, your kinda screwed.

People around here constantly warn of staying away from some websites if you
want to keep malware off your computer. Although I think there's a better
way to accomplish this - such as keeping a Windows operating system off
your computer, msn.com certainly ranks as one of the sites you don't want
to automatically go to everytime you start your web browser! On a freshly
installed XP (without the SP2 patches and who knows, maybe even with it
now) upon starting up IE, the first site hit is that darn msn.com. And yet,
the system immediately picks up some malware.

Cheers.

Install a HOSTS file http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
with a text editor add eprotectpage.com to it

This is a patch, not a fix, but you won't be going to that site
anymore.

If it happens again, you'll just resort to another reinstall - it
should be fixed.

Send me your HiJackThis log file via email - my address is in the
headers.

Also installing Ewido http://www.ewido.net/en/ might help, it's highly
regarded.

Have you installed or done everything, which was said on that
http://eprotectpage.com/. I mean, does you scan computer through that site?
If yes, then your PC is infected with Spyware and Malware. As you said, "you
have completely installed", was it a repair of installation or you first
format the partition and then you did an installation?

Further, for the time you can scan your computer for a Spyware infection.

I have a similar problem at the moment. You can manually reset the homepage
in the Registry for the current log on but it gets toasted again at the next
power on.
There is some virus or worm which runs once only at power on and messes
about with things. To clear the trouble temporarily go in the Registry to:
HKCU (and also HKLM) -> Software -> Microsoft ->Internet Explorer ->Main.
In there you will see the rouge url in three keys: 1. Local Page, 2. Start
Page, 3.Search Page. Use the Edit -> Modify option of Regedit to make the
data values good again. I think the "local page" is the used for "homepage".
I changed all three. When I find the little #*?!!# I will post a full
solution........
