Homepage wont stick

I've never had this problem before. I formatted my
computer and the reinstall went smooth but the only
difference I notice is that when I set my homepage, it
never stays. For example, I will set it as yahoo, hit
apply, and when I close my browser, it resets back
to 'about:blank'. Anyone know any causes for this?

Close all Browser windows and running applications, unzip
the tool, click

I have the cws shredder, spybot and adware and none will
fix the problem. Everytime i close the browser it resets.
I saw something about going into regedit and find a
homepage reset entry and deleting it but i don't even have
a IE section under current user/policies. I can't think of
what could be wrong.
